He has not had any slip ups at all. I have been able to turn him out for most of the day several times in the big pasture near the barn. He doesnt even pay any attention to his old cribbing spots. I still have not had any colic episodes and another thing I noticed this winter is that he drank more water than usual during the winter months. I had in the past a couple episodes of an impaction colic that was due to not enough water in his system. I think its because he was cribbing all day and not drinking water. That was not the case this winter he actually drank more water than my other horse and we had no issues with his water intake. I no longer have that sick heartache looking out in the pasture watching him crib. I always felt so helpless. I appreciate your follow up.

When I purchased “Shy” my 18 year old quarter horse he was the sweetest horse I had ever seen. Within about 2 weeks I was regretting the day I laid eyes on him because he was cribbing on our new fences and teaching my 6 year old paint to crib too. After trying all types of cribbing collars, cribbing sprays, and every cribbing gadget I could find I could not get him to stop cribbing. Then, I ran across Crib-Free on the internet and gave Mike a call. He assured me that he could help Shy with his cribbing problem, I am very, very happy to report that Shy is well on his way to being “Crib Free” . We have been working for about 8 months with his cribbing problem, now he has progressed to the point where I can turn him out in a regular field and he doesn’t attempt to crib. Even when he is faced with a stressful situation, like horses in the other field on the fence line, he is not cribbing. His attitude is so different now. The only thing that use to matter to him was cribbing, now he is very content to graze in the pasture and act like a real horse. He is much more relaxed and easy to be around. I am forever grateful to Mike Hughes and “Crib – Free”.

Before Crib-Free Starting Crib-Free 3 months after starting Crib-Free

Previously he would crib rather than eat. He lost weight and looked like he was ready to collapse. He now is healthy and grazes with our three mares who share his pasture. From time to time he will “tic” (as it is called here in Belgium) but it is no longer the same bad habit he had before.

Howdy - A few wks ago you asked how my 4 yr old Dawn filly was doing. I think we're well on our way. I'm very pleased to have found this option! She is able to stand in the aisle to be tacked & groomed, and will stand tied now for ages while we tack, trim feet, & groom other horses. Had the thought that after this I could offer to board & help other people with cribbers. This week I started letting these 2 out with the older horses, down to 3 now. They spend the am out in far pastures & Dawn is often the leader over the trail thru the woods and over the far bridge. She doesn't seem to be attacking any stumps etc. and is glad to be with the others. I think she is quite bright, but is more relaxed now.
